Hi there! 🙂 I’m a twenty-something living in the Northeast U.S. who completed a doctorate in a healthcare field and moved into a non-traditional post-graduate career. I’m about one year into my first “real job,” which is actually a fellowship position lasting one more year. In this phase of life I feel like past uncertainty has fallen away and I’m settling into a routine. And I now have the luxury of time to pursue other aspects of life that are important to me. The financial independence community is such a special place because it is full of hardworking people ensuring that they are getting the most out of life.
Thoughts on FIRE: Financial independence? Definitely, in my mind nothing puts a person more in control of their own destiny than self-support! Retire early? Maybe, ideally I will continue to work in some capacity for a long time, but only on projects I love.
Starting a blog is something I’ve thought about for a long time. I intend to use this space as a place to capture some of the lifehacks and mental hurdles I tackle. I know that I still have a lot to learn and will face a lot of future adventures. Hopefully some readers out there will join along for the ride! I envision this blog as a landing spot for those who identify similarly, but also for anyone to share perspectives.
